1997 Honda Civic HX intermittent wiper problem.
Question:
My Civic’s intermittant setting does not work. Also, the wipers do not return automatically to the natural parked position when turning them off. I’m guessing this is a fuse / relay type of problem. This is exactly the same thing as posted here: http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=20010629221745.02651.00001313%40… but responses to that post seemed to be inconclusive, so I thought I’d bring it up here again. Any help would be appreciated.

There’s a switch in the wiper gearbox that keeps the wipers running until they’re in the parked position. This switch is needed for the intermittant mode too. Check the BLU/WHT colored wire between the gearbox and the wiper ICU. Check the BLU/BLK colored wire between the wiper ICU and the wiper control switch. BLU/WHT at the gearbox should be 12V when the wipers are parked and 0V when up. (Ignition on, of course) The wiper ICU appears to be behind the giant electrical junction panel, under the dash, on the far left.
